Back the Beats

With Kedrick’s new album just around the corner, enjoy this single he released titled Swimming Pools (Drank), its hella fly.

Take care,

Dave

I am not big lover of mashups, but, Urban Noize really, really brought it with this album they put together called Brooklyn, Chicago, London.

Here’s a song off the album called One & Only, enjoy it, it’s definitely worth a listen or ten.

ENJOY

Just came across Passenger (a.k.a Mike Rosenberg) by complete chance, and boy am I happy I did.  This guy has got some real raw talent and his music is wonderful.  He is still ‘busking’ on the streets in-between gigs, so look him up and see if he’s playing in your city.

Check him out and let me know what you think.

Enjoy

Have to give a shout-out to my buddy Justin (the genius creator Behind Spenz — check them out on the Apple App Store) for finding this video and sending it my way.

Apparently Hit-Boy is not only an incredible producer, but he can touch a track with the rhymes as well.

Once again, CondoKrew delivers in a major way.  Check these guys out on YouTube and stay tuned for gig listings and the album link COMING SOON.

ENJOY.

NIGHTS & WEEKENDS

If you have yet to check out Nights & Weekends, then you are in for a pleasant surprise.

I had the pleasure of first hearing these guys at a small bar on College Street, in downtown Toronto over a year ago.  I was immediately enamored by their sound and have been bumping them ever since.  Nights & Weekends have a unique ability to meld together acoustic melodies with intelligent rap verses backed by a driving and catchy beat.

The three-piece consists of lead singer and Ontario local, Brendan Beamish whose soulful lyrics break through every track and hit you where it counts, the heart.  To Beamish’s left stands the bands other front man, Jermaine Hamilton from New Orleans, who paints pictures with quick-witted rhymes and meaningful lyrics.  Finally, Nights & Weekends keep their tempo with the outstanding stick handling of Davey James, a multi-instrumentalist hailing from Texas, responsible for much of the instrumentation heard on their new EP.

With the weather finally turning, I honestly cannot think of a better band to provide the soundtrack to your summer.  Nights & Weekends has an inexpressible feel that sounds great whether you’re sitting in a bar downtown in the middle of the city, or hanging out on the dock watching the sunset with some old friends.  Either way, what these guys bring to your ears is something that you don’t want to sleep on.

They have just released an EP titled Old Creek Revival that consists of four soulful and catchy tracks epitomizing the bands sound and ability to produce quality music.  If you’re looking for something new, something fresh, and something that will excite you and anyone who hears it, CHECK THESE GUYS OUT.

Keep up to date with the bands activities by checking out their personal website www.nawlive.com.  Give them a listen and then shoot on over to iTunes http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/old-creek-revival-ep/id516040526 and pick up your own copy of the EP and I promise you’ll be happy you did.

I highly suggest getting out to see Nights & Weekends live.  Not only do they deliver studio quality on stage, they deliver an intoxicating show that will have you leaving the bar as a loyal and fervent fan.

Until next time,

Dave
